Meet the Momentum Counselors

Fay Kimbrell, LMSW

(she/her)

I believe that our stories have the ability to keep us stuck or set us free.  I use narrative therapy and the power of storytelling to help individuals heal their past, come to terms with their present, and create a future they desire.  My practice is also grounded in Solution Focused Therapy to help individuals define their solution and stop living in the problem.

Wellness involves the whole person, and I believe the mind, body, spirit, and emotions are all connected. I incorporate somatic therapy into my work when appropriate.

I serve young adults and adults struggling with a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, identity issues, relationship issues, or challenging life circumstances. I often support individuals through difficult life transitions and times of change. I am committed to providing a safe and nonjudgmental space for individuals to explore, heal, and create.  If you are ready to explore old thought patterns, behaviors, and habits that may be keeping you stuck, I am here to help.

Maxine Kimbrell, LCSW

(she/her)

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for more than 30 years. I am a native New Orleanian who has experienced the power of resilience and rebirth in our people and our city. I believe all persons have this same capacity within themselves.

My clinical background includes crisis intervention, trauma-informed counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused brief therapy. Much of my work has been with underserved populations, and it has shown me that no matter where a person comes from or what they have been through, we all face many of the same challenges. Sometimes our thoughts, fears, hurt, anger, past traumas, and experiences keep us from moving on and changing. We begin to feel stuck. I’m not sure we can ever completely free ourselves from ourselves, but we do have the power to become happier and more fulfilled.

Recognizing your own potential and creating positive changes is easier when you have guidance. I offer nonjudgmental support to anyone who seeks to accept herself, himself, or themselves.

Noelle Deltufo, LCSW

(she/her, they/them)

I have worked in social services since 2009, and most of my experience has been with criminal justice and system-involved people. I obtained my LMSW from Tulane in 2016 and completed my LCSW in 2021.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I observed the serious need for mental health counselling. Seeing so many people struggling to cope and looking for relief, I felt inspired to begin working in private practice. I hope to engage with clients in a genuine way as they work towards their goals and create their own path. I am LGBTQIA-aligned, sex positive, and sex worker friendly.

I see people’s lives through an intersectional and person-in-environment lens. As a therapist, I provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients are free to express themselves as they work toward healing and growth.

I currently live in New Orleans with a rotating number of rescue dogs. As part of my ongoing racial and economic justice work, I attended the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond: Undoing Racism training. From 2011-2019, I participated in Nola to Angola, a three-day, 170-mile prison solidarity bicycle ride. I like reading about astrology, studying enneagram, and listening to audiobooks.

Molly Pulda, LMSW

(she/her)

I believe we need a sturdy base of courage, trust, and self-compassion to improve how we cope with challenges. As a therapist, I focus on helping individuals navigate life changes, including the tricky transitions of early adulthood, turning points in personal and professional relationships, and lifelong fluctuations in mood and motivation. I have a particular interest in helping young adults befriend difficult feelings, in order to build a strong sense of selfhood, a balanced work ethic, and mutual respect in relationships.

I earned a B.A. in English and psychology from Columbia University, a doctorate in English from the CUNY Graduate Center, and a master’s in social work from Tulane University. My 12 years of teaching college-level literature and writing, and my doctoral research on family secrets, inform my practice of helping individuals make meaning out of the stories they are already living.

Originally from Massachusetts, I moved to New York City for college and stayed for 20 years. I’ve lived in New Orleans with my husband and daughter since 2016, and I continue to adapt to the vibrant culture of our city.
